There are several people to thank for helping make this event so successful. Because of your generosity we sent 32 quilts to our wounded soldiers through the Quilts of Valor Foundation.
That we got so many quilts to the top stage of completion in such a short time is amazing. And each is unique and beautiful.
See all the completed quilts below, including both the Jelly Roll QOV and QOV's donated by the Wasted Women's Bee and others. All the tops were quilted, bound, labels attached, washed and tucked into their presentation cases by volunteers. The label read, "This Quilt of Valor was made for you. It is our hope that you find comfort and healing when wrapped in its warmth. Please accept it with our gratitude for your service and sacrifice."
Twenty quilts were directed trough the Quilts of Valor program to a distribution contact in Indiana. The contact is a woman who was wounded in Afghanistan and is part of the Wounded Warrior program while she recovers. She received a QOV of her own but finds giving QOV's to others is helping her own recovery. She has even gone so far as to learn to quilt!
Twelve of our quilts were sent Fort Campbell. There are 600 hundred Wounded Warriors in their program. A Wounded Warrior is one who was injured and is still under a doctor's care.
