In February 2014 the Giving Quilt hosted Sew Long Day at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge to benefit the children served by Dreams Come True. Dreams Come True provides "Dreams" for Louisiana children with life-threatening diseases. The sew day was designed to make quilt tops specifically for teenage boys. The tops were longer than those we normally make so the boys will be covered from head-to-toe. No cold feet for our young men!
The Giving Quilt provided lunch and door prizes. Wasted Women provided 15 kits for participants to assemble to the quilt top stage. Everyone there provided the laughs and giggles. What an inspiring day we had!
Our special thanks go to Margie Bumm, Marie Montalbano, Renee Hoeprich and Noreen Mazzaroppi for surprising us with additional completed quilts.
